Living in Your Sweet Spot
Let me informally introduce myself…I’m Lakesha Holloway but you can affectionately call me Kesha (pronounced Key-sha). I was here before the singer. Most people get this but I’m always correcting those Starbucks baristas.
So this is my attempt at jumping…jumping into a very known but unknown landscape. Known because I am a digital marketer. Unknown because I’ve spent my career building brands for others but ignoring others when they told me to start my own blog. I chose safe and now I’m venturing out into the deep and it’s exhilarating.
I grew up as a PK. If you don’t know what that is, it’s short for pastor/preacher’s kid. My mom was an administrator in higher education. In fact, she was the register at the same university I attended. Needless to say, I couldn’t get away with messing up because she knew my final grades before I did. So while I don’t necessarily carry the reputation of the typical preacher’s kid, I had my ways. I was sneaky but I had to keep my grades up or there was a serious price to pay.
Now here is where it gets complicated but I certainly wouldn’t trade this experience for anything. I have been a nomad for most of my adult life. After college, I lived in the Washington, DC metro area. I then moved to North Carolina, Virginia, Georgia and then back to Virginia. It was during this time that I met the love of my life and we got married. I thought the gypsy life was over but then we decided to move to Florida. Recently, we’ve found our way to what we hope is our final destination in Charlotte, NC. We are literally living a dream at the lake and the view is stunning.
I started Living in Your Sweet Spot to share my journey with faith, finances and purpose. I hear so many stories from married women and single mothers who feel guilty about pursuing their dreams because of their family responsibilities. Most of us put our dreams aside to help our husbands and children live their dreams. I truly believe we can support the dreams of our loved ones while fulfilling our own God-given purpose.
We have been given an incredible life with choices on how to live out our purpose. My family has decided to allow the Father to write our story as we daily anticipate beautiful surprises along the way. I hope our lives reflect the sweetness of His love for us and you!
“But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness,
and all these things shall be added to you.”
“I have loved you with an everlasting love;
I have drawn you with unfailing kindness.”
And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God,
to them who are the called according to his purpose.
