4 Reasons Moms Should Have Hobbies and a Life Outside of the Home that Doesn’t Include Their Jobs

When I was single, I was a complete social butterfly.  In fact, some of my most “healthy” outgoing times were here in Charlotte, NC. I attended a church that I loved and had a great circle of friends. We would spend Friday nights at our favorite “spoken word” spot. We met often for potlucks and wine. We went indoor rock climbing and race car driving. We did life together and it was wonderful but deep down, I wanted to be married and start a family.

If I could afford a weekly massage, my name would be in rotation at the spa. Unfortunately, that is not in the budget and I have to find other ways to take care of myself. When we think of self care, expensive facials or massages are typically the first to come to mind. A weekend getaway or vacation are also things many of us desire but we may not be in the position to make it happen. I have to make myself practice self care every single day.
